Victoria Kinkler
Drawing bores me, I like something messier. Oozing with paint, thick and rough with texture, and void of realism. Nature, traveling, and the color blue drive me to paint.

NOTE: unfortunately, the gallery below is not a comprehensive documentation of the exhibits.
Artwork
Going Postal Exhibit
This collection is comprised of multimedia postcards. That's right, 4x6 postcards. They were sold pre-stamped to encourage the use of the more *personal* snail mail in the digital age. Because, who doesn't like mail? Or art?

Anthropology Exhibit
The pieces in this collection were inspired by the changes society has endured over the last 100 years. The change from rural to city-centric, the development of the great American road trip, and the change in what we consider to be "everyday" materials and textiles.

Snapshot Exhibit
The pieces in this collection were inspired by time. They reflect one second each, just a snapshot of what we feel or see in a given day. The ordinary, that we look at but don't really see--your dog all curled up for the night. The extraordinary, which we want to remember--snorkeling, or a super moon. What we feel at different points in our life--articulated.

Wanderlust Exhibit
The pieces in this collection were inspired by the colors of water and the mystery of space because after all, the sea is just a wetter version of the sky. Elements of time spent on the road and in the forest are incorporated as well.

Heritage Exhibit
The pieces in this collection are reminiscent of the elegance and grace of my grandma. Elements of my childhood memories with them are present in vintage features and suggestions of gardening, books, and child-like wonder.
